Sweden’s Ministry of Finance plans to complete work on assessing the impact of the launch of the state regulated token (CBDC).
According to Bloomberg, the country’s authorities decided to accelerate the implementation of the project to create a token tied to the crown, as many countries are also actively workingin the same direction.
PerBolund, who heads the Kingdom’s Finance Ministry, said that the department will publish a report on the work doneNovember 2022.
The official also noted:
“It is vital that the digital payments market function safely and that it is accessible to all… Depending on thewhere the digital currency is in development and what technologies are being used.”
Back in October of this year, the chairman of the Bank of Sweden Stefan Ingves spoke about the regulator’s readiness to accelerate the creation of the digital crown.He also called on the parliament to approve the crypto-project in a very prompt way.
The country’s central bank has already started testing the digital crown.
