Hong Kong Open to Working With PBoC on Digital Currency

Hong Kong would be willing to collaborate with China’s central bank digital currency pilot, if China wants to explore its usage outside of the mainland, according to a senior government official.

In a statement, Christopher Hui – secretary for financial services and the Treasury – said Hong Kong’s government and the country’s central bank would “actively respond and collaborate” with the People’s Bank of China’s pilots.
