JAKARTA – The Indonesian central bank’s “burden-sharing” pact with the government is a one-off policy measure for this year, its deputy governor, Dody Budi Waluyo, told a Fitch Ratings online conference on Wednesday. The comment followed Tuesday’s remarks by President Joko Widodo that the scheme would continue until 2021, but was unlikely in the following year if economic growth rebounded by next year. Waluyo added that Bank Indonesia’s policy stance would remain “accommodative” and aim to maintain stability of the rupiah currency, which dropped as much as 1.5% on Wednesday. REUTERS
