The date for payment of the second installment of the coronavoucher is scheduled for next week, but it is already worrying the BC that ordered more money to be printed. The order would have been made to the Mint, which will print more coins soon.
The measure is contested by many who see the printing of physical coins as a serious problem. In China, for example, the Central Bank is already testing the digital currency as the spread of disease for physical money may be greater.
In Brazil, however, the Central Bank’s digital payment solutions, the PIX, should arrive only in November. With a greater demand for cash, the BC was left with no alternatives but to print more real physical.
